Mr Kosuge is very professional in all he does from first appointment to surgery and after care, he is always very pleasant and approachable, always making sure you fully understand everything you need to know. Both my knee replacement operations have been without any problems and I would highly recommend Mr Kosuge and Princess Alexandra Hospital to anybody worried about their forthcoming operation.

I received an excellent service from my surgeon I have multiple orthapedic conditions and was reasured to make a very traumatic time easier the only thing that can be improved upon is for all multi disaplinary team on the ward to read patient notes and understand other issues relating to medication given after surgery as I experienced poor understanding in my long term pain control which was stopped too abruptly. I'd: been on dyhdracodiene for over 12 years and was stopped overnight which resulted in a serious withdrawal But this is no critisium of the surgeon who was excellent. And I really appreciate that at all out patient appointments I see my actual surgeon and not a understudy thank you

I am 17 years old and play lots of football, unfortunately I tore my meniscus whilst training. Mr Kosuge repaired the bucket handle tear in meniscus even though it was looking unlikely for a repair. It is almost 12 weeks since surgery and I haven’t had any problems at all. The care I’ve recieved has been second to none!! I can’t thank Mr Kosuge and his team enough for the way they have looked after me before, during and after surgery.

Profile

Mr Kosuge developed his passion for Trauma & Orthopaedics as a junior doctor and pursued this by enrolling onto the North-East Thames Percival Pott Orthopaedic Training Programme. His training took him to prestigious centres including The Royal London Hospital, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. He was inspired by a number of his excellent trainers to focus on the subspecialty of hip and knee joint replacements.

Following completion of specialist training in the United Kingdom, he enrolled onto and successfully completed a one-year fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia under the auspices of Professor Donald Howie. This fellowship allowed Mr Kosuge to refine his skills in hip and knee joint replacements, as well as revision hip replacements. During his orthopaedic training, he was the recipient of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Zimmer Adult Reconstruction Hips and Knees Fellowship in 2014, the AOTrauma Fellowship in 2013 and the Tohoku University Orthopaedic Visiting Fellowship in 2010 – and utilised his time visiting, learning and exchanging ideas with centres of excellence in Japan.
